Moose 4
Mice 0

Having bravely cornered a mouse in a cracker box, Moose was unable to catch the wee beastie. He was, however, philosophical about the missed capture, noting that even the Asiatic wild dog (arguably the world's most successful predator) fails to take its prey half of the time.

Here is a helpful link to a succint Wikipedia article about the Asiatic wild dog (also called Dhole):

Moose also pointed out that the Moose mentioned on the website is merely a namesake... and nothing more.

Note Regarding Hiatus

I have been instructed by Moose to inform his adoring public about my recent hiatus as administrator of this blog. It was necessary during the hiatus period to maintain strict silence regarding the crisis which had occupied both Moose's time, as well as my own (inasmuch as I serve Moose as his personal assistant).

While Moose has requested that I provide no sensitive information, I am free to state that the crisis involved several highly trained orange tabbies (dressed in matching sweaters) and approximately one million troy ounces of gold. Apparently this team of cats had contacted an alien race based in the constellation of Leo, and were preparing to exchange the bullion for an undisclosed Secret Thing.

Happily, Moose, along with operatives attached to the High Caenid Council (of which he is chairdog) were able to obtain possession of both the gold and the Secret Thing. Moose informs me that the Council is satisfied with the outcome of the crisis.

Moose advises everybody privy to this knowledge to trust in Canis familiaris, and to go ahead with their everyday lives.

More on this matter as Moose authorizes the release of further information.
